Interim Bethel Twp. Fire Chief Jim Snyder said the house is “probably totaled,” and he and the assistant fire marshal were digging through debris Monday morning, trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
“I’d be surprised if it wasn’t a total loss,” Snyder said.

The back of the house and a garage were heavily damaged, while other areas had burn damage as well.
Snyder said two residents and two pets were in the home at the time but escaped uninjured.
Bethel Twp. firefighters were assisted at the scene by the New Carlisle and Fairborn fire departments.
